 Угловой сектор внутри главного лепестка ДН антенны, в пределах которого излучается наибольшая часть энергии сигнала. Обычно ширину диаграммы направленности измеряют по уровню, при котором напряженность поля уменьшается в √ 2 раз, а поток мощности снижается в два раза по сравнению с аналогичными характеристиками поля в направлении максимального излучения. На практике также встречаются случаи, когда ширину ДН антенны измеряют по уровню 1/е, 1/10 или по первым нулям. В качестве примера на рис. В-5 приведена ДН антенны, построенная в полярной и декартовой системе координат. Параметрами такой диаграммы направленности являются углы 2φ05 и 2φ0 , характеризующие ширину ДН по половинной мощности (по уровню 3 дБ) и нулевому уровню соответственно.
